Overview
The Select I/O system is a flexible, Ethernet-based, single-channel granular I/O solution designed for the ABB Ability™ System 800xA automation platform. It simplifies project workflows by decoupling I/O tasks, reducing the impact of late-stage changes, and promoting standardization in I/O cabinet design. This ensures that automation projects are completed on time and within budget.
The TU865 is a Termination Unit (MTU) for the Ethernet Fieldbus Communication Interface Module. It connects up to 12 Select I/O MTUs and supports single or redundant Ethernet Adapters (TC810, TC811) and Ethernet FCI Communications Interface Modules (CI845). This setup enables reliable communication with AC 800M controllers. Additionally, the TU865 can host an optional High Integrity Module (HI880) for use in SIL 3 safety applications. It is designed for vertical DIN rail mounting and comes with one TL814K01 cover plate included.
