Overview
The 3500/15 AC and DC Power Supplies are designed as half-height modules and must be installed in the designated slots on the left side of the 3500 rack. The rack can accommodate one or two power supplies, with any combination of AC and DC, and either configuration is capable of powering the entire rack.
When two power supplies are installed, the module positioned in the lower slot functions as the primary power supply, while the module in the upper slot serves as the backup. The backup power supply automatically takes over if the primary supply fails. It is important to note that inserting or removing either power supply module does not disrupt the operation of the rack, provided that at least one power supply remains installed.
The 3500/15 Power Supplies accept a wide range of input voltages and convert them to the voltages required by other 3500 modules. The available power supply options for the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System include:
