The Rack Interface Module (RIM) serves as the primary interface for the 3500 rack, facilitating configuration and machinery data retrieval through a proprietary protocol. It is essential that the RIM be installed in slot 1, adjacent to the power supplies.
The RIM is compatible with Bently Nevada's external communications processors, including TDXnet, TDIX, and DDIX. Although it provides functions applicable to the entire rack, it is not involved in the critical monitoring path, ensuring that the normal operation of the overall monitoring system remains unaffected. Each rack requires one RIM for proper functionality.

Front Panel LEDs:

- CONFIG OK LED: Indicates that the 3500 rack has a valid configuration.

I/O Module OK Relay:
- Relay to indicate when the 3500 rack is operating normally or when a fault is detected within the rack.
- User can select either an "OPEN" or "CLOSED" contact to annunciate a NOT OK condition.
- This relay always operates as "Normally Energized."
