Overview
The Digital Output 24V Module offers an advanced and effective method for output power protection. In the event of a short circuit in the field, the following sequence takes place:
- The output circuits detect the overcurrent condition and immediately shut down the affected output.
- The affected point automatically switches to Manual mode.
- An "Over-current Soft Failure" alert is generated.
This failure condition persists until the short circuit is resolved, at which point the module resumes supplying the correct current. Only the affected channel is impacted, while any other channels without short circuits continue to operate normally. If multiple channels are affected, they are individually shut down, with unaffected channels remaining active.
Additional protection includes a thermal alarm that triggers when a field short exceeds 0.5A.
